The heart behind it
“No woman should have to start over without somewhere gentle to begin.”
Chenevea built A Place of Rest out of a long-held conviction: that a woman coming out of a hard season deserves more than a bed for one night. She deserves a door that closes, a kitchen that smells like supper, and someone who is glad she came.
Her heart is for the mothers who are doing the hardest work there is — holding a child’s hand while rebuilding their own life — and for the children who notice everything. The whole house is shaped around them.

About Us
A Place of Rest exists to empower women with children through high quality services and the opportunity to make healthy change. Placement and housing are made available to you.
Women and children are looking for, and in need of, quality care, a safe home, and a stimulating environment that entertains kids and fosters creativity.
Our approach puts the person back in power. We promote healthy minds, and we build in enough positive influence to engage women and young children without ever limiting imagination.

No long intake gauntlet and no explaining yourself twice. You reach out, we talk, and we take it from there together.
Start with a messageSend the private form or call. Tell us as much or as little as you want to. A first name and one way to reach you is enough to start.
We speak with you about what is happening and what you are hoping for, and you can ask us anything you need to know.
If it is a good fit, we talk about moving in and what the first weeks would look like for you and your children.
Make a Difference
Every gift goes toward the room, the meals, the child care, and the quiet stretch of time that lets healing become stability.
